Frequently Asked Questions

1. Creating a Nudge

i. In the search bar at the top of the app, tap Touch here to create a Nudge.
ii. This will open the search box where you can search for an address or location that you want to create a Nudge for.
iii. Choose a location.
iv. Tap Create Nudge.

LOK will let someone else know when you get near a location (while Nudges are sent to your phone). For example, you could let your trainer know when you enter or exit a location, offering an additional layer of accountability.

2. The Nudge Details Page

i. It appears when you touch a Nudge in the Nudges List, or when you touch a card on the map. It offers information on your Nudge (underneath the location’s name), including its website and directions on how to get there.
ii. It also offers two vital features:
1. Share lets you share the Nudge with other Nudger users.
2. Notify Me lets you turn notifications on or off for that particular Nudge.
a. If you turn Notify Me off, the map pin will remain on the map but it will become grayed out. Notifications for that Nudge will show up on your Notifications List under the Hamburger Menu, but they will not pop up on your phone.
b. By contrast, if you turn a Nudge off (by swiping left on the Nudge in the Nudge List), the pin will disappear from the map altogether, and you will not receive any notifications for that Nudge.

That gear will pull up the controls for setting the Nudge’s radius and frequency.

3. The Map

i. The blue pin with the Nudger symbol shows your current location.
ii. Green pins are the Nudges of places you want to go.
iii. Red pins are the Nudges of places you want to avoid.
iv. Aqua pins are Let Others Know (LOK) Nudges, which will let someone else know when you enter and/or exit a location.
v. If a pin contains the share symbol, it means someone has shared it with you.

It means you’ve turned off Notify Me on the Nudge Details Page.

The circle represents the Nudge radius. When you enter that radius, you’ll receive the Nudge.

That card gives you some basic information on that Nudge. Touch it to bring up the Nudge Details page.

4. The Hamburger Menu

a. Notifications contains a list of all of the notifications you have received in the app. Note: the entries in that list are interactive so you can touch on them or swipe left on them for more details or controls.
b. Shared Nudges contains a list of all of the Nudges that you have shared with or received from other Nudger users.
c. LOK Requests is a list of all of the Let Others Know (LOK) requests that you have sent to or received from other Nudger users.
d. Active Nudges tells you the total number of Nudges that you have enabled in the app.
e. Invite opens up iMessage so you can text a link to Nudger Health in the App Store.
f. Settings opens the Nudger Settings page.
g. Help opens the Help section which contains tutorial videos and other helpful information about the app.
h. Advanced/Share Packages: What’s the difference between a Nudge Collection and a Share Package?
– A Nudge Collection is simple enough. It’s a folder (thus the symbol) where you can put together a collection of your favorite Nudges.
– However, what if you want to put one or more of those Nudges into a different collection to send to a friend? That would be tough, since of course you can only have one Nudge associated with a given location. That’s where Share Packages come in. You can put together a Share Package with any locations you’d like, regardless of whether you have them in Nudge Collections already or not, and then send that to a friend. And because it’s strictly for sharing with a friend, that Share Package will not show up in your Nudges list.

5. How do I...?

In the Nudges list, swipe left on a Nudge, touch More, then touch Delete.

In the Nudges list, swipe left on a Nudge, touch Turn Off.

On the Nudge Details Page, touch Notify Me. It will become grayed out, with a line through the bell.
ii. Alternately, on the Notifications list, swipe left on any Nudge to bring up the Notify Me option.
iii. If you want to turn off all notifications for all Nudges, go to Settings under the Hamburger Menu and then turn off “Get Nudged”.

On the Nudge Details Page, touch the icon to the left of “Text Nudge” (or “Picture Nudge” or “Audio Nudge”). This will bring up a panel with the option to change the type of Nudge you want to assign to that location.

If you haven’t done so already, you need to create a Nudge Collection (see: How do I create a Nudge Collection?). In the Nudge List, swipe left on a Nudge, touch More, then touch Move, and then choose the folder where you want to put the Nudge.

In the Nudge List, swipe left on a Nudge or Nudge Collection, touch Share, and then choose which other Nudger users you want to share the Nudge or Nudge Collection with.
ii. Or, on the Nudge Details Page, touch Share.

On the Nudge List, touch the folder icon (in the right of the search bar). Nudger will then walk you through the process of creating a Nudge Collection.

On the bottom of the Nudge Details Page, touch the pencil icon to the right of the text that reads, “Let Others Know People”. This will bring up a list of your Nudger contacts to choose from.
